When a flower says “ooh!”With the old Godspell song playing in my head, thus the post title. Here are two amaryllises, taken last night.

And today.Dancing Queen and Red Lion amaryllises

My project, meantime, completely stalled out for the day and I couldn’t figure out why I didn’t want to work on it; finally, it hit me that, I was nearly done, I knew who I wanted to knit for next after I finished it, and I had not a clue what to make that person. I was avoiding not knowing what to do. So I went off on an errand this afternoon, I think not for the errand’s sake, really, but rather, to get away from the house and the problem for a moment, and by the time I got home, I pretty much knew. I went through my stash, and one ball after another, one color, one texture, then another, confirmed that yes, that one. No, not that: almost, almost, but go back to the first, yes, that feels right.

Camelspin in Berry colorwayNow I know. It feels like such a relief. Back to work!

I love amaryllises (or is it amarylli…not sure which). The pictures on your post are absolutely beautiful. I totally understand the art of avoidance…it is bliss. I often stall on a project due to the fact I just don’t want it to end. The last stitch, the last end woven in or the last button often leads to a sadness akin to finishing the last sentence in a very good novel. But take heart, there is always another project waiting in the wings to offer up just as much joy 🙂

Oh those flowers are beautiful!! and the color in that shawl is incredible – can’t wait to see it blocked out.

I finished my sweater and was thinking – I HAVE to start another project right away – it was like a craving – luckily knitting circle was the same day and Iwas able to get some new yarn for a new summer weight sweater .. 😉

Whew. Thank you. I’d visited another blog and had a song I didn’t want stuck in my head, but now, I have the serene “Day by Day” instead. Beautiful flowers.
