Wagtail Yarns kid mohair from AustraliaNo dishes. No vacuuming. No laundry. No taxes. Nothing to do, after Nancy kidnapped me and took me to Creative Hands in Belmont, but sit there, enjoy the company of other knitters, and knit. The phone rang: major accident on 101? Traffic stopped? We’ll just have to knit here a bit longer.

Having learned, via the Orenberg skein a few weeks ago that ran 250 yards short, that I can still knit a well-fitting shawlette project with the Julia pattern out of a smaller amount of yarn, I started this with a single 410 yard/100g skein of Wagtail Yarn’s kid mohair. I can’t wait to show it off at this year’s Stitches convention to the fellow who raises the animals it came from.

Wow! Glad you weren’t caught in traffic when that accident occurred. And how fortunate to get “stuck” in a yarn store instead 🙂

I agree how fortunate! I think it would be just lovely to be surrounded by all the yummy yarn in a yarn shop, rather than all the honking hoirns in a traffic jam

I love Wagtail! Can’t wait to see the finished product at Stitches.

It’s coming out a lot longer than the Orenberg–sometimes yarn really surprises you. (I knitted nearly half a shawl yesterday!)

Love the yarn! I want to see a big pic of this one when it’s finished! 🙂
Go figure, blogger & the internet love me tonight?? This is weird after three weeks of frustration. Anyways…missed reading your blog!

Oh oh! I see that wagtail yarn and how it just shines from all the kid mohair in it. My friend Stephanie sells it in her shop and it is divine. SHE ordered it directly from that nice man from down under!
