Leopad print hearing aids? Where does one get that from? I myself am lusting over a brand from Oticon which provides you with a way to plug in mp3 players such as iPod in. First, though, I got to get a Job so I can afford to buy that new pair.

I have Oticons, and for the first time in my hearing-aided life I can plug headphone-y things in. I can’t tell you how cool it was to be able to listen to the little TV screen on my Jetblue flight a few weeks ago. For a few minutes. Then I thought, eh, turned the thing off, and went back to my knitting project. We don’t even own a TV, so I’m not used to wasting my time on one. But it was so nice to be able to if I wanted to. Next up, someday, an IPod–now, that would be cool! (Buymybookbuymybookthisisasubliminalsuggestion.)

But I dearly miss my Sonic Innovations aids I had previously: as a musician, the SI’s have by far the better sound. My Oticons make higher notes go flat, especially if I turn the volume up. Drives me nuts. But they have far better feedback suppression than the SI’s–or did, at the time I was buying mine two and a half years ago–and for me, that’s crucial. I have permanent hearing damage from my first-ever pair of aids, the all-in-the-ear type, which fed back constantly.

I have an Oticon Synchro P in BRIGHT yellow, and Oticon Adaptos in emerald green and royal blue as well. I’m going for neon pink next time.

I love that I can use the ‘boot’ to listen to my iPod with the synchro.

Good for her. Most people try to hide these things. I figure if you’ve got the things, you may as well let people know so they can speak more clearly if needed. My, who would have thought that anyone even made leopard print hearing aids. Too funny.
