Doing better, had another blood test, got the results, and shared a sigh of relief with my doctor, who can now go enjoy his vacation tomorrow without worrying. Alright!

One of these days I’m going to design an amaryllis pattern in lace.

Alison, I’m so glad you had positive results on the tests.

What a great idea for a pattern!

Oh, I’ve wanted to for years, originally in intarsia (still might), when I was doing a lot of colorwork, and now in lace (you betcha I will). Too much family history wrapped into the flower for both my mom and me not to. Knitted amaryllises, and also treble clefs: Rosemary of designsbyromi.com designed a treble clef shawl pin for me. Go check it out–very cool. And last I heard, Sheila Ernst was thinking of creating one of her glass beads with a treble clef, too. (Sheila? Am I speaking out of turn?)

Hello,

Could you tell me if you knit your background and if so how did you get the colors did you use different yarns or a spaced dyed yarn?

Just bought your book and looked up your site. Can’t wait to get it. Cover shawl looks beautiful.

Thank you,

Gert

The background on the blog is the Embossed Diamonds afghan with the pattern on my spindyeknit.com website, and I got the colors by plying strands of a super-thinly-spun superfine merino with matching strands of an undyed brown cashmere. But you could use anything.

One thing to know is that the cover on Amazon is a mistake, the book has a shawl similar to that green one but that particular green one got edited out for lack of space. Which, when I pointed out (oops, guys), is why Martingale shot a new cover, which Amazon has not gotten up yet. (My hubby did on my website if you want to see the new one). It’s worrying me that people are going to be disappointed, and the publisher is working on it. There are a lot of other top-down circular shawls in the book, though.
