A Dancing Queen double amaryllis celebrating the day

and a package that should have arrived on time, with silk, cashmere, and lambswool, one of the two laceweight strands dyed by me to complement the other. This is in a pattern I’d admired but never gotten around to actually trying before; it seemed to me that having your first child hit a quarter century is a good time to learn something new.

That. Scarf. is. Gorgeous. I love, love, love the sheen on the yarn (I zoomed waay in just to see it. I’m a geek). P.S. What stitch/pattern is that? I lurve it.

Thanks for the commentary on the deli situation. It is a good point, and three sandwiches and two little cuppies of soup and a buncha cookies and brownies is very generous for one person, but I still don’t get why he asked how many are in my group, in that case. I think you’ve probably hit the nail on the head, though. In any case, it’s all water under the bridge anyway, and not a (real) issue. Thanks for shedding light on what he might have been thinking, it always helps to walk a mile in someone else’s shoes. Makes a person more merciful, I think. Ok. I have to go clean my apartment. Lata!

Thank you! And Regina, it’s one strand Jaggerspun Zephyr in garnet and one strand cashmere that I dyed; I bought a pound cone of the stuff not long ago for $13 because it was a vivid traffic-cone orange and nobody wanted it. Well hey. Have dyepot will dunk. The pattern is Barbara Walker’s English Lace from her Second Treasury of Knitting Patterns.
