Yesterday I was at the dentist’s and then the doctor’s, and I took this project along to work on. Usually people ask me what I’m making, but on this one, instead, three times I had people ask me how I would describe the color. Guava juice? That was the best I could come up with.

My friend Constance, a fellow knitter, likes to say “Color is everything.” That all is else is secondary; if you don’t like the color, you’ll never like the project. And if you love the color, all other faults can be forgiven.

That said, everybody seemed to love the color on this one as much as I do. Whatever one might call it.

Raspberry sherbet?

I have no idea what color to call it, but I love it. It’s purpley enough that I don’t mind its pinkyness. It’s gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous.

It is a beautiful colour, Alison and reminds me of sunsets on the Oregon coast, as the sun is touching the horizon and the sky expands into a watercolour palette. At the very edge of the sky is the most incredible colour and it looks just like your scarf.

Thank you! I really like this one. That yarn just kind of leaped onto my needles and yelled, Me! Me!

I thought the exact thing as Serena. Raspberry sorbet or sherbet. It is stunning, whatever you decide to call it.

I tried to post this yesterday, but Blogger wouldn’t let me. Serena says the fiber has to FEEL good before she’ll consider working with it. No fiber that the hands don’t like!

Oh, this stuff feels heavenly! One of the best kid mohairs I’ve ever touched, Lanas Galata from Aurora Yarns, knitted with a strand of Gentle, a superfine merino/cashmere/tencel blend that adds a bit of shimmer and light.

Blogger’s been really buggy lately, sorry about that.
