The man-eating plant out back said it had gone vegetarian. It promised it had. But in the end, it declared with a grin, smacking its lips, that hadn’t meant vegan! And so Joni’s beloved wool yarn met its untimely end. No sheep were hurt in the process, so the green monster declared itself still true to its word.

Wow, it is so cool to see the yarn knitted up that way! Am I allowed to say I think it’s gorgeous? 😉

I hope that plant didn’t eat the scarf because it’s a gorgeous colourway 🙂 You knit such lovely scarves, Alison.

We moved to California in March ’87, coming from 70″ of snow in 17 days to this house with this monster green elephant ears that was forever after called the man-eating plant. You could hide-and-go-seek a couple of preschoolers in it easily. One daughter, who knits a little, is now a vegetarian, her husband a vegan, so this post had lots of family in-jokes to it.
